Assembly Preview Release (0.2 Alpha)
Introducing Codebase Explorer, a powerful tool for navigating and understanding your projects, along with improvements to blueprints and context handling
We’re excited to announce the release of Assembly 0.0.2. This update introduces the Codebase Explorer, enhances context management, and adds new customization options to streamline your development workflow.
Codebase Explorer: A New Way to Navigate Your Projects
The star of this release is the Codebase Explorer, a tool that provides a graph-based view of your entire codebase. With Codebase Explorer, you can:
- Select multiple folders and files to pull in comprehensive codebase context
- Visualize connections between different parts of your project
- Enhance Assembly’s awareness of your entire codebase structure
This enables Assembly to:
- Answer deeper questions about code relationships
- Generate documentation spanning the entire codebase
- Assist with onboarding new engineers
- Provide critical context for tasks that span multiple areas of your project
Additional Enhancements
@ Tagging on the Landing Page
Quickly access individual files or entire repositories with autocomplete functionality. Assembly automatically searches for and presents relevant context before answering your queries.
Custom Instructions in Blueprints
Set custom instructions for Assembly within a blueprint, allowing for more flexible and direct control over how Assembly works in a session.
Create Blueprint from Current Session
Save valuable context you’ve built up by generating a new blueprint from your current session, making it easy to reuse and share your work.
Image Rendering in Context Panel
Clearer visualization of uploaded images in the context panel, ensuring you know when multi-modal capabilities are active.
Tons of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes
The team has been hard at work addressing user feedback and making Assembly more stable and user-friendly.
