Assembly Beta Release (0.5 Beta)
Introducing Dynamic Context, Workflows, App Fragments, and a complete UI overhaul marking Assembly’s transition to Beta.
We’re excited to announce Assembly’s transition to Beta with the release of version 0.5. This milestone release introduces major new features that enable the end to end development lifecycle within Assembly.
Dynamic Context with @ Commands
We’ve redesigned context access with the new @ command system. Just type @
in chat and select from a range of dynamic context sources:
- @repo: Leverage AI to search and retrieve context directly from your repositories
- @file: Instant file search across your codebases
- @pr: Direct access to pull request information
- @ticket: Integration with project management tools like Jira & Linear
- @docs: Search through connected Google Docs
Stay tuned for upcoming additions including more knowledge bases, internet search, and documentation sources.
Introducing Workflows: The Evolution of Blueprints
Workflows represent the next generation of collaborative development experiences, replacing and enhancing our Blueprint system:
- Customizable Process Definition: Create structured workflows with:
- Suggested input parameters
- Process guidelines
- Output requirements
- Customized start messages
- Pre-loaded Context: Automatically include relevant engineering system context
- Organization-Specific Intelligence: Customize Assembly with your team’s unique workflows
- Common Use Cases:
- Code review processes
- PRD creation and management
- Repository-specific development
- Documentation standardization
- Bug triage and DRI workflows
App Fragments: Full-Stack Prototyping
App Fragments bring a new dimension to rapid application development:
- Self-Contained React Applications: Build complete, multi-file applications
- Integrated Development Environment: Prototype and test within Assembly
- Real-Time Preview: See your applications come to life as you develop
UI Overhaul
We’ve reimagined the Assembly interface for enhanced productivity:
- New Homepage: Streamlined access to frequently used actions
- Intuitive Navigation: Faster access to key features
- Enhanced Context Management: Better visibility of active integrations
O1 Access Now Available
We’re pleased to announce the availability of O1 access for users in a limited trial. o1 represents the most advanced reasoning model available directly inside Assembly.
Getting Started
To explore these new features:
- Try the @ commands in any conversation to pull in dynamic context
- Create your first Workflow to standardize your team’s processes
- Experiment with App Fragments for rapid application prototyping
We’re excited to enter this new phase with you and look forward to your feedback as we continue to evolve Assembly.
Happy coding!
